Schiestl attends the academy in Munich, one of his teachers is Franz von Stuck - an apprenticeship that he didn't think much of himself. In 1901 he became self-employed, in 1910 he became a professor at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts. Between 1900 and 1913 about 18 bookplates were created, which, as Braungart (ELZ 1914, p. 129) emphasizes, mostly have "connections to old German culture". - Good copy.
