Comments: * Vollmer 1; Gutenberg 16,717; Bötel / Sparke 122. - Hand-signed as well as monogrammed and dated in the print. Bötel, shaped in his youth by the wandering bird, began a legal training which he broke off due to the war in order to turn to pedagogy. He becomes a drawing teacher, his mentor is Karl Bantzer, rector of the art college in Kassel. From 1920 he designed bookplates, initially using almost all techniques, and since 1925 he has been etching almost exclusively. Research counts him among the landscapers, and he has created around 200 bookplates in total. - Small remnants of assembly on the back.
